MONITORING CENTER (MC)
The Monitoring Center (MC) is a network service platform consists of several high performance servers and database system. MC can communicate with Monitoring Server through network. And it supports multi-level center management; GIS map display and TCP/IP communication protocols etc.
MC provides a variety of monitoring functions. Without affecting the transmission of information, the system gathers and analyzes optical core data. Through long term accumulation and analysis, it forms wire degradation pattern. And by using the data gathered it generates curve report to show optic fiber’s state in a straightforward way. Supported by a powerful GIS platform, the system can implement visual management of cables, pipes, manholes, machine buildings and other resources. Welding is also used in the system to generate optic fiber route network and specific network topology, so as to manage optic fiber network resources centrally and plan the structure of network reasonably.
u Accurate pinpoint of wire failure, showing the distances from the fault point to outpost and landmark to reduce the time of troubleshooting.
u Trend analysis and tracking of wire degradation
u Automatic event analysis, alarming and management
u Reference curve – automatic comparison with historical data
u Trace optic fiber maintenance log
MONITORING STATION(MS)Remote Test Unit (RTU), the control device of optic fiber monitoring, is an unmanned unit which is installed in a transmission room, a long-distance route relay or a module station of an access network. It consists of several industrial control systems with independent intellectual property rights. MS consists of the embedded control unit, the Optical Line Test Module (OTDR), the optical switch (OSW), the Optical Power Meter (OPM), and power etc.

l MS software function comparison
Backup and update through network
According to MC’s instructions, database and application can be backed up or downloaded from the server via FTP protocol.
Automatic restore to backup software
When abnormal happens, if the updated software and database can’t start, the system will automatically restore to backup software
Report the state of running process to server
Management staff can get real-time state of process running remotely through network software or instructions.
System can monitor all dynamic allocated memory to prevent memory leak.
Users can query information of every board card, including manufacture date, serial number, hardware version, software version and running state. When the state of a board card changes, e.g. the card is unplugged or has fault, the system will report alarm to the management center.
